The Progress Report: February 13
Trump’s ICE makes Americans less safe.
Trump’s ICE makes Americans less safe. They should be held to the same standard of accountability as any other government employee or law enforcement agent.
THE CASE
With DHS running out of funding today, we must demand accountability and expose the way Trump’s ICE is hurting Americans. Trump’s ICE and Border Patrol have been killing people in broad daylight, locking up kids, and making our communities less safe. That’s why Democrats are fighting to stop agents from operating with total impunity, demanding reforms on masks, IDs, and judicial warrants. But Republicans in Congress are blocking progress to hold Trump’s untrained agents accountable.
KEY FACTS AND DATA
Trump contends his enforcement operations are targeting immigrants who are a threat to public safety, but law enforcement leaders say the administration’s enforcement efforts are making people less safe.
